v0.2: Upon more tangible steps
A copy of the simulation has been provided to some to test the performance of the application.
Please note that the application in the zipped folder is no longer available.
To report new features:
-A display has been added to the simulation itself, which provides all relevant controls to those who do not bother to inform themselves here.
-Basic weapon handling is now at play. Hold (Right Click) to aim the weapon. Use the (Scroll Wheel) to manipulate the slide. Hammer must be back and slide must be closed to fire.
-Recoil is now at play. Firing will make the weapon move about. The recoil is different based on if you are aiming down the sights or not.
-Lights are now baked properly. The extra colored lights will no longer cause issues.
-Physics simulations are now smoother, to accommodate for:
-Slow-motion is now at play, temporarily. Hold (Tab) to slow time.
-The ability to restart the scene is now clarified. Press (R) to restart the scene.
-A temporary laser sight has been added to help simulees understand that the bullet comes out of the barrel of the weapon. Press (1) to toggle this feature.
-The sights now glow.
To chronicle the journey:
Slow-motion messed with. Physics updates noticed and interpolated. Lights baked and understood. Handling worked on. Audio hub initiated. Animation bug with persistent speed from previous animations diagnosed and addressed by extending exit time. Animations controlled by motion time do not freeze properly and must have zero speed. Old fracturable objects do not have fracturable tag and will not fracture. Newer engine considered.
Sensitivity noted to be excessive exclusively on web-build. Settings considered. More objects imported from Willow Zone, including models, textures, and sounds. Sounds added to weapon states. Reflection probes messed with, then discarded. "Ghost gun" added to aid in weapon positioning for debugging. Font imported from Residua.
Front sight no longer has hitbox. The weapon cannot shoot itself anymore.
