Double The Everything

The overall content and quality of the game has been just about doubled. That's exciting.

Added a new scene, including scene transitions. You now get to walk down at least two hallways before you run out of things to do.

Added new ways to disappoint your friends. A few people will have some different reactions to your actions. I know there's no real way for me to tell you what that's supposed to mean, but just trust me.

There's a pause menu now. You can use (Esc) or (Tab) buttons to enter it, and you can edit the sound and music volume. Two out of two playtesters have complained about not being able to change the volume, so thank them for this feature. Your ears will no longer be torn to shreds by the forsaken Kleptomaniac.

Speaking of buttons, you can also use the (Start) button on those controllers if you have any. Yeah. We have budget controller compatibility. Let's go.

A few sounds are tweaked slightly because yes, I'm still having issues with audio on WebGL. Some things don't change even after half a year.

You know how I thought I was being clever with that devlog a bit before? The one where I did the whole "Enter: Kleptomaniac" thing (and spelled it wrong)? I think I might do that again for the characters so far, as well as everyone's internal names.

-The Kleptomaniac     (Flower Girl)
-The Amnesiac         (Gal)
-The Avolitionist       (Rude Guy)
-The Choleric          (Lady)
-The Contrite          (Bandana Man)
-The Empath           (Teal)
-The Apath            (Tupa)

I'm not sure how much I care if those are real words in a dictionary. They get the point across.

I was going to have everyone's titles be similar to the first two, but I don't think I will. As I was writing this, I went into a long rabbit hole of researching -iac words, and as it would turn out, those words fell out of style a long time ago. Unless I wanted to name people after paraphilia disorders I think the pattern is going to be disrupted.

Do you think anyone is going to read these? I guess the only type of person who would bother to read my game (because there's hardly any "playing" in it) would also appreciate the same dry humor to be sprinkled into this commemorative block of text.

A site dress-up is probably due to reflect the changes. I'm sure putting the anime girl in the thumnails will draw in more of an audience. I also have a better sense of how to not mess up the resolution (which leads to strange artifacts as can be seen in the old gif). Most importantly, I think I might change the text box and have the screenshots reflect the new text font (which I bothered to make myself).

Approx. 90 hours work in.
